This species was flying in the same locality as Polyommatus coridon
(Chalkhill Blue) and at first it was very difficult to distinguish
between the two species in flight. However, after a few minutes, I was
able to recognise the slightly paler colouring of the male Furry Blues.
When at rest with wings open, dolus reveals the extensive darker
colouring from the centre of the wings towards the body whereas coridon
has the darker colouring on the edges of the wings. With wings closed,
the very different underside markings give no doubt to their correct
identification.
