ARTOGEIA MANNII  -  SOUTHERN SMALL WHITE

A group of mixed whites. Dietro Beseno, Trentino. 06.04.14. In the r.h. photo P.mannii are the 2 whites on the right with their wings open
The black wing-tip marking extending down the outer edge of the wing to vein 3 or 4, and the post-discal black spot, which is slightly concave on the outer edge, point to the Southern Small White (mannii) rather than the ordinary Small White (rapae), which has a grey wing tip marking that extends further inwards rather than downwards. Rapae's post-discal spot is also grey and rounder.
